- Mary Ann Boland, chairman; Members: Alice

- This committee will oversee the work of the
project activities and assure all components are completed in a
timely manner.
- Website -
- Susan Lines, Theresa Beyerle, Ann Bitong,
John Montgomery, Becky Guzy-Woodford, Gigi Woodruff, Jim Crouse,
Louwana Oliva, Sharon Rosche, Debbie Palmer, Arthritis
Foundation partner, and Mary Ann Boland
- finalize the design the function and
navigation of the website;
- define website strategies (e.g., content
of shared pages, linking policies, placement of partner
logos, etc.);
- identify update policies for working
partners;
- assist Project Connect in gathering
update information and disseminating it through the website
and the electronic newsletter;
- implement all decisions by the GFA teams
as they pertain to the website.
- Policy
- Provide a written privacy policy to cover
data elements to be collected, e.g. determine what to collect,
e.g. name, e-mail, password, zipcode, address, age range, health
status, some history of exercise and/or eating habits, etc. and
assure fits the law.
- Create a written privacy policy of how data
collected from the website
will be used.
- Create a “contract” form for working partners
to use, stating they will meet the expectations we have for
their participation.
- Create a membership card that can be
downloaded from the website that identifies GFA members when
using coupons from the web.
- Marketing &
Communications

- This committee will create a marketing plan,
focused on the mission of the project, including the steps
required to carryout marketing activities and implementing
marketing strategies within the stated timeframe.
- The following are some of the materials that
may be needed:
- finalization of logo to be used on the
website and in all marketing materials; stationery;
- water bill inserts;
- format for ads used by “working partners;”
- ad campaign for Akron Beacon Journal and
other local newspapers;
- radio spots;
- logo and copy to place with/in the Families
in Motion Exposition and Akron Marathon ads;
- flyers for alumni members to distribute and
for libraries, and
- other, as determined by the committee.

Gregg Mervis; John Guran; Michael Zeleznik; Sarah Beth Emberger,

- This committee will locate and secure one
main prize item, e.g. a spa week/weekend for two, a treadmill,
or a great vacation for a drawing on September 30; plus 18
additional prizes for one drawing per week beginning with May
23, 2005. Prizes should be appropriate for good health and
fitness, e.g. a free month at the Wellness Center; three
massages; pair of running shoes; small exercise equipment,
healthy cookbooks, bicycle, etc.
- In addition, this committee will locate and
secure as many “free” coupons and/or discount coupons at
restaurants, retail outlets, etc. for members to download and
utilize throughout the community.
- Alumni Involvement Committee
- Margaret Mascio, Chairman. Members: Heidi
Roane, (perhaps all class officers), Karen Hillman
- This committee will gather information from
class officers to create an organizational plan for alumni
participation as members of the website and “working partners”
by sharing the information about the website with their
neighbors, churches, schools, membership organizations, and the
workplace.
- Decide if Alumni should have a website page,
if so, the content of the page, identify who will write the page
on a weekly basis with ideas and tips for alumni to share with
family and workplace, etc.
- Decide if competitions and challenges should
be employed. Help to plan an alumni reception or breakfast on or
about May 12 to introduce all LA/LAAA trustees and alumni
members to be introduced to the website (prior to launch on May
21).
- Plans to keep alumni engaged for 18 weeks.
- Publish sign-up lists so all alumni can have
the opportunity to sign up for one of the committees.
