The Website
The family-friendly, interactive website will provide useful
information that is updated on a weekly basis:
- local community events which will encourage regular physical
activity, better nutrition, and healthier lifestyle behaviors
- local exercise facilities
- local programs that promote healthy lifestyle changes
- general information about health, exercise, and nutrition ...
including hyperlinks to local and national resources
- specialized information for participants with specific medical
conditions, such as asthma and diabetes ... including hyperlinks to
local and national resources
- specialized information for kids and teens ... including hyperlinks
to local and national resources
- specialized information for seniors ... including hyperlinks to
local and national resources
- common questions from program participants and answers from local
experts
- special promotions for program participants
a detailed privacy policy
- information about program partners
- contact information for technical support
Project Connect responsibilities:
- Project Connect staff will work with committees to develop a logo,
design plan, and the navigation structure.
- Project Connect staff will develop the website and host it on Info
Line’s network servers.
- Project Connect will create the databases, forms, calendars, etc. and
incorporate them into the website.
- Project Connect staff will coordinate a weekly/biweekly electronic
newsletter to be sent to all participants; a listserv for all
partners; and individual listservs for each of the committees
involved.
- Project Connect will work with a “working partner” to transfer the
website as a sub-site.
- Project Connect can host the site indefinitely for $180 per year
(price subject to change) as long as someone commits to keeping it
updated.
- All questions regarding navigation of website will be handled by
Project Connect via email (help@getfitakron.com) and a dedicated phone line
(330-315-1385).
Working Partner website
responsibilities:
- Each working partner will receive a web-page
on the website; sub-pages can be added.
- Each partner must maintain the integrity
of the overall design of the website.
- Partners are responsible
for all content on their pages.
- Each partner will forward to Project Connect
an index of contents and a "new this week" feature.
- Each partner will coordinate with Project
Connect to produce a 100 px x 100 px partner logo. This will be
displayed on the website where appropriate.
- Working partners are encouraged to be
represented on the website team. Responsibilities include:
- finalize the design the function and
navigation of the website;
- define website strategies (e.g., content
of shared pages, linking policies, placement of partner
logos, etc.);
- identify update policies for working
partners;
- assist Project Connect in gathering
update information and disseminating it through the website
and the electronic newsletter;
- implement all decisions by the GFA teams
as they pertain to the website.
