Want to lose a
few pounds? Maybe your solution is to eat different, not
just eating less.
A new report on
American eating habits reveals that almost a quarter of the
calories we consume come from nutrient-poor selections,
better known as junk food. Soft drinks are reported as the
number one source of calories, with sweets, desserts, salty
snacks, and alcoholic beverages coming in close second. All
of these foods are concentrated in calories, which can
increase your daily caloric total. Not to mention they lack
in nutritional value.
The solution:
replace junk snacks with low fat and low calorie foods such
as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. These foods will not
only supply less calories, but will also provide you with
the nutrients and fiber your body needs. Make eating healthy
snacks your goal today!
