Obesity drives much of the health care costs both in terms of absences and in the cost of treating the associated medical conditions.

Obesity can be costly:

39 million lost work days in 1994, a 50% increase over 1988
Obesity drove 27% of medical cost increases between 1987 and 2001

What you do in the life has an impact on your physiology. It is important to understand the health risks of the American lifestyle. Every workplace probably includes people who are obese, smoke, and don’t exercise the way they should. This behavior is directly related to heart disease, stroke, cancers and diabetes, high risk behavior that results in health care experience.
